About: Eating with the Ecosystem is partnering with Eat Drink RI to present a series of educational dinners at Ocean State restaurants to promote a mission of creating a place-based approach to sustaining New England’s wild seafood. These seasonal dinners are fundraisers for Eating with the Ecosystem’s Scales & Tales Mobile Food Boat program which will provide free public educational programs about local seafood, ecosystems and fisheries. The “Scales” part of the dinner series relates to the meal, where guests will enjoy five courses each paired with unique cocktails. The menu will consist of seasonal and abundant local seafood. This dinner will feature periwinkles, squid, black sea bass, sea robin and bluefish. The “Tales” portion of the evening will consist of interesting and education discussion surrounding local seafood, ecosystems and fisheries. Tom Hoxsie, a local trap fisherman, will share his stories from the water and Eating with the Ecosystem's Kate Masury will teach you about the species on your plates and how you can not only enjoy delicious seafood but support our ecosystems and local fisheries in the process. Tickets are $90, all inclusive.
