“Saving the Wealthy Apple Tree” Walk & Talk

  • Andrew Harris House 216 Morgan Avenue Johnston, RI, 02919 United States (map)

About: The Neutaconkanut Hill Conservancy and the Rhode Island Tree Council have planned a “Special Walk & Talk” that will take participants to historic Hispes Rock, discover a historical cemetery, learn how to “Save the Wealthy Apple Tree,” tour a renovated Blacksmith Shop, and enjoy the beautiful environment of the historic property of the Andrew Harris House. The host is Anthony Ricci, a Neutaconkanut Hill Conservancy board member and owner of the property. Meet around the apple tree at the Andrew Harris House at 10 a.m., where John Campanini of the R.R. Tree Council will describe the perils of heirloom apple trees and efforts to perpetuate their diversity and bounty. Free and open to the public, but donations to the Conservancy will be welcome.
