About: Explore a vernal pool at with the Dartmouth Natural Resources Trust and the Buzzards Bay Coalition. Staff will lead participants on a hike through the reserve to a large vernal pool, where you will discover frogs, salamanders and other interesting inhabitants of this temporary spring pond up close and personal. Be prepared for moderate walking of about a mile, rain or shine. Participants should wear sturdy, waterproof hiking shoes or boots. As a bonus, the hike will wind past the reserve’s popular daffodil field, where thousands of daffodils bloom each spring. Registration is required for this free walk.
