SLOCUM — Why heat with oil, gas, propane or wood when there’s corn? Yes, corn. Not ethanol or corn oil; just plain kernels of corn, dried and poured straight into the stove. Grown and bagged right here in Rhode Island, Blazin’ Corn is one of only five corn-fuel growers in New England.

I saw corn at Sodco this year and heard that they were also going to try growing it for fuel. The signs by the road said "T & A" which is a seed company in North Dakota. From their website it looks as though they sell GM seeds. Do you know what kind Blazin' Corn grows?
Also, are there any figures for return on energy invested (ROEI) compared to other biofuels?
Aside from these concerns it is good to see farmers earning a living from farming and keeping the land in agriculture. Thanks for the report.
