Yard-Waste Services by Community

Besides putting yard waste — leaves, grass clippings, sticks — in a home composting pile, here is the list, alphabetically by community, of how to get rid of yard waste in Rhode Island’s 39 cities and towns:

BARRINGTON
Service: Curbside collection April through December the day after regular trash pickup.

BRISTOL
Service: Can be dropped off at the landfill’s compost facility on Minturn Road, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. and Saturdays from 8-11:30 a.m.

BURRILLVILLE
Service: Can be dropped off at compost facility, 325 Whipple Ave., every Wednesday and Saturday in April, May, September, October and November from 9 a.m.- 1 p.m.; every Wednesday and second and fourth Saturday in June, July and August from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.; appointments available Monday through Friday in December, January, February and March.

CENTRAL FALLS
Service: Curbside collection on Thursdays.

Service: Can be dropped off at the transfer station on Colebrook Road in the summer on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 a.m.-4 p.m.; and in the winter on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 8 a.m.-4 p.m.

Service: Curbside collection weekly in April and November and every other week May through October. Christmas tree collection is the first week of January.
