In 2006, three entrepreneurial organizations came together to create Oke USA. Their goal was to introduce small-farmer, fair-trade bananas to the U.S. market. <a href="http://www.okeusa.com" target="_blank">Oke USA</a> operates as the banana importing arm of Equal Exchange, headquartered in West Bridgewater, Mass. It is a full-time position &mdash; 45-50 hours a week.<br /><br /><strong>Responsibilities:</strong> Logistics &mdash; producer relations support, fruit procurement, ocean transportation, quality control, customs, U.S. transport, and coordination of weekly fruit supply to ripeners and distributors; sales &mdash; account maintenance, new sales, store visits and events, pricing and financial analysis; and marketing and education.<br /><strong><br />Qualifications:</strong> Ability to manage complex logistics; problem solver; team player; ability to work independently; time management skills; willingness to travel domestically and internationally; ability to work under high stress in a fast-paced environment; two or more years in produce; experience with perishable&nbsp; commodity logistics; experience with Latin American producer groups; and Spanish language skills.<br /><br /><strong>Salary:</strong> Dependent on experience.</p>

By rescuing and renovating more than 50  historic properties, advocating vigorously for preservation of many  more and sharing stories of New Bedford&rsquo;s past, WHALE has inspired  pride in residents and has helped transform the city.</p>
<p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong> Provide creative, energetic leadership to guide WHALE&rsquo;s  mission-driven work and to ensure its long-term viability and financial  stability; direct the implementation of WHALE&rsquo;s current and future strategic  plans; provide fundraising leadership; build partnerships with state and local government and allied  organizations and agencies to create preservation-friendly policies and  programs; lead WHALE&rsquo;s preservation real estate work to rescue endangered historic properties within defined, target areas; drive WHALE&rsquo;s communications and public relations program,  including significant upgrade of its website and social media  activities; hire, supervise and review staff.</p>
<p><strong>Qualifications:</strong> Passion and sense of urgency for WHALE&rsquo;s mission and for New Bedford; fundraising ability, with experience generating funds from a  variety of sources; familiarity with construction and renovation processes; ability to inspire and motivate  people and to connect with people at all levels and from diverse  communities; demonstrated record of partnership and collaboration with others, including government; outstanding written and oral communication and computer skills; experience in advocacy and public policy.</p>
