You will help in the development of educational activities and programs. You will be responsible scheduling the education interns on programming, for providing tours to the public, greeting visitors, selling admissions and merchandise. This position will also provide assistance in the maintenance and cleaning of the aquaria as well as the care and feeding of the animals. This is an excellent opportunity for college students and recent college graduates to get experience working in the field of marine science and environmental education. The position is seasonal, May 21-Sept. 4.</p>
<p><strong>Qualifications:</strong> Background in marine and/or environmental science or environmental education; experience working with children; strong interest in environmental education; first aid/CPR certification a plus; BCI check required.</p>
<p><strong>Compensation:</strong> $12 an hour.</p>

The date of employment is expected to be July 15, with full assumption of duties Aug. 1. Founded in 1981, the trust&rsquo;s comprehensive urban agriculture programs have made many meaningful and lasting impacts on Greater Providence. The organization has grown to serve about 8,500 residents each year with community gardens, youth education programs, workshops, farmland, community events and citywide urban agriculture initiatives. The executive director position is funded with general operating and grant support.</p>
<p><strong>Job description:</strong> Responsible for the professional leadership and management of SCLT, working in concert with the board, staff and community of support to achieve SCLT&rsquo;s annual strategic goals and objectives; provide overall leadership for strategies related to fundraising, organizational development and sustainability, land preservation for growing food, and financial oversight as well as supervision of programmatic implementation the strategic plan. Advanced degree in relevant fields preferred.</p>

This is a network of protected areas established for long-term research, education and stewardship. The local reserve is recruiting to fill two full-time seasonal positions. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking for hands-on experience in marine science and environmental education. Applicant must possess a valid driver&rsquo;s license and a good driving record.</p>
<p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong> Assist the education coordinator with development and implementation of summer marine science and environmental educational programs; periodically staff the Learning Center and/or Estuary Education Shed; assist with organizing community events and teacher training workshops; obtain lifeguard certification (free training available) and act as a lifeguard for camp programs; assist with land management and/or ecological research.</p>
<p><strong>Qualifications:</strong> B.A. or B.S. in marine science, biology, environmental sciences, environmental education or a related course of study; rising junior or senior undergraduates also are encouraged to apply; demonstrate enthusiasm for teaching science-related topics and preferably have marine science and/or teaching experience; public relations and communication skills; knowledge of New England marine environments and wildlife is a plus.</p>
<p><strong>Time requirements:</strong> There are two positions available with flexible start and end dates, but both positions will encompass the summer months (June-August) with the possibility of starting in the spring or staying into the fall. Schedule will typically be up to five days a week or 40 hours a week. Willingness to work weekends, holidays and some evenings is a must.</p>
<p><strong>Compensation:</strong> $9.75 per hour with low-cost housing available at the reserve on Prudence Island. There are no benefits available.</p>
