Computational Analyst

The Middletown, R.I.-based McLaughlin Research Corporation is looking for a computational analyst to join an interdisciplinary team of marine biologists and environmental planners to provide technical expertise in support of Navy at-sea environmental planning projects.

Responsibilities: Conduct computer simulations using the Navy Acoustic Effects Model to predict acoustic impacts on marine species; develop scenario and event definitions based on navy training and testing requirements; conduct modeling and simulations to support software verification and validation; assure data quality by conducting reviews of collected and analyzed data.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics or related technical discipline; U.S. citizenship and able to obtain a security clearance is required; strong computer skills and technical capabilities working in a Microsoft Windows 7 and MS Office environment; proficient in using MatLab to solve analytical problems; excellent analytical and data management skills.
